Pin It now!
So my creative madness continues! With only one day left to get this party started I have been swampt busy! I even lost my popcorn virginity by making popcorn balls for the very first time. (Say those last three words like your rocking some cool madonna tunes).
I thought making popcorn balls was going to be easy, which they really are - but popping popcorn old school style (oil, pan, shake) is truly the scariest thing ever! I mean, people, I almost died!!! When it started popping it was like "Okay Eileen, hurry up, shake the damn thing" I was so afraid of oil flying out (even tho it was covered) and starting an oil fire! Phew! I survived!! And I must say my popcorn balls look nice and firm. (That's what she said). So anyways, after I packaged all the popcorn balls with some pretty zebra and green ribbon (gotta keep with my theme, and the popcorn balls are a hot pink color) I decided to attach the labels that I had my awesome crazy card lady cousin make for me for my rootbeer bottles! I was a little skeptical about serving old school rootbeer bottles at my daughters 11th birthday party, but hell they are OLD SCHOOL rootbeers!!! Don't you remember when you were little and your parents or your grandpa took you to get a soda down the road and it came in a cool bottle? I thought they were too cute and fun to pass up ... so even though I was a little skeptical I thought why not? It's fun ..! Originally, I was going to do plain old water bottles, so I am pretty sure the kiddos will thank me for sugaring them up with some awesome caffine free soda! If you like these labels you will totally have to hit up Mabel at her crazycardlady etsy shop for some custom made one's for yourself! They are such a fun addition!
So I have probably seen so many episodes of cupcake wars lately that I had this super crazy idea of doing my own cupcakes for her party! I was so afraid they would come out super lame and I would be rushing last minute to the nearest crap grocery store to purchase one of those "boring lame, crap" cakes (so sorry if you work in a grocery store bakery and you are reading this ... I'm not talking about you, your awesome, you have mad skill girl! I wish I could do half the iiish you do, but i can't i'm just a house wife who stays up late watching cupcake wars" but, this housewife totally knocked some socks off of your grocery store cupcakes! I can proudly say that I also lost my cupcake piping virginity too! How awesome am I?! I'm such a cool cat ... I mean, I piped and piped my little heart out and wah-la I love them so much! Don't bother patting me on the back, people. I've already patted myself like a ga-zillion times! I love them!
So anyways, that's all for today - I have to go finish dipping pretzel rods into chocolate ... until tomorrow peeps ..
EILEEN OUT!
