What's this you say? You wanna make Play Doh, too?! Okay! :)

Pin It now! This morning little guy and I woke up with the best idea we have had all summer! We were going to make PLAY DOH!! {Insert crazy mom here, "PLAY DOH" ... carpets = OMG!} But, the big smile on my little guy's face made the fear of play doh getting into the carpet seem okay .... so, play doh making we went!!!! So, I did not take a photo of all the ingredients needed for this awesome project, but it's pretty easy peeaaassy! Grab the following from your kitchen cabinets/pantry! 1 c. Flour 1 c. Water 1/4 c. Salt 1 TBSP Olive Oil {Veg. oil works too, but, I am more of a virgin Olive girl myself, so that's what we had on hand and used}. 2 TSP, of Cream of Tartar {DO you know how hard it is to find, cream of tartar? Seriously people!!!Crazy hard for me .. we found it two towns over! OMG! hahaa} If you have a little girly girl dab some glitter to make it sparkly fun! My little guy said "Glitter was too girly" haha We needed some manly play doh, and since his favorite color is GREEN we went with just a few dabs of green food coloring!

So, after all your ingredients are gathered - just dump them all into a big sauce pan and let your kiddo(s) stir. stir. stir. {My little guy had the biggest smile on his face! He was so happy to help.} After its mixed pretty well (no white showing anymore) ... throw that pan on med. heat and stir. stir. stir. and watch as it forms into PLAY DOH! I let little guy watch within a safe distance, and his face was priceless ... he loves the "magic" of it forming into firm play doh!! So awesome!

After it is done, let your little one watch as you knead it on a flat surface ... I say let them watch, because it will be kinda warm/hottish ....

That's pretty much it ... hours of entertainment! Little guy made an awesome pirate ship to battle with! haha Gotta love their sweet little imaginations! Until Next time ... E
